Temporary Basket Strainers

Temporary basket strainers are designed so pipeline flow enters the cylindrical element and particulate accumulates at the flat bottom section of the basket. Compared with “witch’s hat” / temporary cone strainers, they have less filtration area, which reduces the open area ratio and results in a higher clean differential pressure.

 

We supply temporary basket strainers for 150# and 300# pipelines from ¾" to 24" in carbon steel, 304L stainless steel, or 316L stainless steel. The standard perforation is 1/8". Other perforation sizes and mesh linings are available. Standard mesh sizes include 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 150 and 200.

 

Standard open area ratios are 100% or 150%. Longer elements can be quoted when a higher open area ratio is required.
