Eastar duplex strainers enable you to see the fluid and strainer basket within the strainer body. This crystal-clear material is best for fluids that contain few abrasive particles; otherwise the clarity of the material can become somewhat opaque due to fine scratches over time. Some applications benefit from the ability to visually verify flow through the system and others simply like the aesthetics of a glass-like strainer body.
The 3-way diverting valves, which have a special design connecting them to a single operator, are made of PVC, so they are not translucent like the strainer bodies.
The duplex strainer design consists of two simplex strainer bodies connected with true-union connections to the diverting valve manifold. The ergonomically friendly basket cover, vent valve and drain valve are easily used without requiring tools.
The table below lists the corresponding part numbers based upon the size, connection type and o-ring material. Hayward duplex strainers typically ship directly from the manufacturing facility to minimize lead time and cost; orders over $3,000 ship free anywhere in the continental USA.
