Model GS basket strainers consist of a PVC, CPVC, polypropylene, Halar or PVDF core with an FRP overcoat and resin gel-coat finish. This construction provides the optimum combination of chemical compatibility and structural strength.
The Fluidtrol Model GS simplex basket strainer is available for pipelines as large as 24". Access to the basket chamber is provided by stainless steel T-bolts and does not require tools.
GS simplex basket strainers have an open-area ratio of at least 4:1. Gasket grooves on the strainer body keep the EPDM lid gasket correctly positioned. The angled basket design self-centers and is easily removed by its handle. Integral vent and drain plugs permit safe draining before basket access and allow degassing during pipeline filling.
Non-alloy valves for isolation, venting and draining can be supplied at additional cost.
All GS basket strainers are rated for pressures up to 150 PSI at 73°F. At elevated temperatures (73–300°F) the maximum pressure rating may be reduced; some core materials tolerate higher temperatures better than others.
