Cast 316SS Simplex Strainers

316SS Simplex Basket Strainers for 3/8" to 16" Pipelines

Eaton Model 72 cast 316 stainless steel simplex basket strainer

We offer six models of cast 316 stainless steel simplex strainers from three manufacturers covering 3/8" to 16" pipelines. Use the pressure-drop calculator on the right to compare performance, then review specific features via the catalog links in the table below.

Pressure Drop Calculator

Select the strainer size, enter maximum flow rate (GPM), choose the desired particle retention, and (if the fluid is not water-like) input specific gravity (Sg) and viscosity (SSU). The calculator updates clean differential pressure, maximum recommended flow (based on ≤ 2 PSIG clean ΔP), and the flow coefficient (Cv).

Target a clean differential pressure of ≤ 2 PSIG and plan to clean the basket when differential pressure rises by about 5 PSIG. A lower clean ΔP generally allows higher flow or longer intervals between cleanings.

When performance is similar across models, selection often comes down to features (bolted vs. quick-opening cover), pricing, and lead time. For hot, high-pressure, or hazardous fluids, a bolted cover is usually preferred over a quick-opening design.

Use the strainer inquiry form so we receive complete design criteria and can recommend the best model. We typically reply within the hour or by the next business day.
