Aquatic, Pool and Waterpark Basket Strainers

The SW series FRP simplex basket strainer is designed for pump protection at waterparks, pools and similar recreational plumbing systems where hair, lint and other common debris are encountered. The RSW version has a reduced discharge nozzle and is typically installed on the discharge side of a pump system that feeds smaller-diameter plumbing. The ESW version has an oversized body to handle the higher particulate loads common at zoos and aquariums. All three models are designed for easy maintenance and require no special tools.

Bodies are lightweight FRP. Perforated 316 stainless steel strainer baskets are designed to withstand up to 15 PSI differential pressure. The open-area ratio is at least 4:1. The low-pressure-drop design is specifically suited for installation on the suction side of pump systems.

An acrylic lid allows visual confirmation of material collected in the basket. Access is provided by stainless steel tee handles. Gasket grooves on the strainer body keep the EPDM or silicone lid gasket correctly positioned. The angled basket self-centers and is easily removed by its handle. Integral vent and drain plugs permit safe draining before basket access and allow degassing during pipeline filling.

Non-alloy valves for isolation, venting and draining can be supplied at additional cost.

SW/RSW/ESW strainers are rated for pressures up to 50 PSI at 75°F. At elevated temperatures (75–140°F) the maximum pressure rating is reduced. Maximum suction pressure is 14 PSIG vacuum.
