Although Eaton was founded in 1911, its industrial filtration division was established in 2005 with the acquisition of the Hayward Filtration Division. In subsequent years additional filtration-equipment manufacturers were acquired, including Ronningen-Petter, Internormen Technology Group and Begerow GmbH. Prior to being acquired by Eaton, Hayward had itself purchased several industrial filtration companies such as GAF Filter Systems, Loeffler Filter-Technik and Wright-Austin.

Most of these manufacturers possessed specific patented designs and decades of application experience. Eaton has since streamlined its product offering, eliminating duplicate product lines, enhancing existing designs with the latest manufacturing technologies and introducing new products to broaden its portfolio.

The consolidation of representative and distribution networks, together with the integration of engineering and manufacturing resources, produced a company that can supply a filtration solution for virtually any application—industrial process, food/beverage/pharmaceutical or hydraulic—whether the fluid is liquid or gas.
