Style GFV cast iron simplex strainers are comparable to Eaton models 30R, 72 and 73, and to Titan models BS25, BS55 and BS65. The GFV is also available in a 250# version that handles higher pressures than any of the Eaton or Titan flanged cast iron strainers. Bolted cover is standard; a knob-style closure is available as an option.
Style GFV simplex strainers are offered in 2" through 16" sizes and feature an angular cutaway basket design that keeps clean differential pressure to a minimum.

Variations
The GFV style is also available in cast carbon steel (SGFV), 316 stainless steel (SSGFV) and bronze (BGFV). The series is frequently applied for higher pressure requirements (250#, 300# and 600#) although 150# versions are also available. With the exception of the 12"–16" sizes, Eaton and Titan designs generally offer higher flow coefficients (Cv). Therefore the GFV style is often the better choice for lower flow rates and higher pressures. Neither Eaton nor Titan currently offers a 600# cast basket strainer.
We do not prominently list the 150# GFV variations on this site because their lower Cv values produce higher differential pressure for a given flow rate, which increases cleaning frequency. However, if Eaton or Titan does not have appropriate stock, if GFV pricing is more competitive, or if you prefer this design, we can supply it.
On this website we group strainers by material, from smallest to largest, and provide links to outline drawings with an embedded differential pressure calculator so you can compare models and brands by actual performance.
