Eaton Model 52 duplex strainers are made of cast iron for water applications in pipeline sizes from 10" to 18". Diversion of flow is accomplished by four linked butterfly valves operated from a single gear-operated hand wheel with a pointer that indicates which chamber is in service. The cast design keeps costs to a minimum and usually the lead time is shorter than Eaton Model 950 custom fabricated duplex strainers.
Eaton Model 52 duplex strainers use special pleated side-entry strainer baskets in support of a straight-through flow path and low clean differential pressure. The low pressure drop characteristics are supportive of pump suction strainer applications to minimize the chance of cavitation. The pleated (convoluted) design increases the straining area while reducing the size and weight of the basket itself.
Eaton Model 52 strainers have a threaded drain plug, enabling you to drain the cavity for inspection. The heavy cast wall thickness combined with precision-machined basket seats result in a rugged strainer body with a tight-sealing basket chamber.
