High Temperature FRP Basket Strainers

Fluidtrol Model SS basket strainers are manufactured from one of three different FRP formulations selected according to the fluid characteristics. These solid FRP simplex basket strainers are generally used for extremely aggressive chemicals and higher temperatures. All designs feature tapered adhesive butt-and-wrap or o-ring joints and are UV protected. Fire-retardant resins are available as an option for all variations.

P Series

• Bisphenol A vinyl ester resin (Derakane 411 or Hetron 922)
• Integral corrosion-resistant liner
• 50 to 150 PSI rated
• Maximum temperature rating of 180°F
• For moderate to aggressive corrosion environments

H Series

• Bisphenol A vinyl ester resin or epoxy Novolac vinyl ester resin (Derakane 470 or Hetron 970)
• Custom-designed corrosion barriers
• 50 to 150 PSI rated
• Maximum temperature rating of 220°F
• Used for hot concentrated HCl, typical of mineral process industries

A Series

• Resistance to chlorides and fluorides (Derakane 411/470 or Hetron 922/970)
• Integral corrosion-resistant liner
• 50 to 150 PSI rated
• Maximum temperature rating of 180°F
• Used for FGD applications because of much better wear resistance than rubber-lined carbon steel

Model SS simplex basket strainers have an open-area ratio of at least 10:1. Gasket grooves on the strainer body keep the EPDM lid gasket correctly positioned. Closure can be bolted or tool-less T-handle style depending on system pressure. The angled basket design self-centers and is easily removed by its handle. Integral vent and drain plugs permit safe draining before basket access and allow degassing during pipeline filling.

Non-alloy valves for isolation, venting and draining can be supplied at additional cost.
