Fluidtrol Model SS basket strainers are manufactured from one of three different formulations of FRP depending upon the fluid characteristics. Generally speaking these solid FRP simplex basket strainers are used for extremely aggressive chemicals and higher temperatures. All designs feature joining with tapered adhesive butt & wrap or o-ring joints and are UV protected. Fire retardant resins are an option for all variations.
P Series
Bisphenol A vinyl ester resin (Derakane 411 or Hetron 922)
Integral corrosion resistant liner
50 to 150 PSI rated
Maximum temperature rating of 180F
For moderate to aggressive corrosion environments
H Series
Bisphenol A vinyl ester resin or epoxy Novolac vinyl ester resin (Derakane 470 or Hetron 970)
Custom designed corrosion barriers
50 to 150 PSI rated
Maximum temperature rating of 220F
Used for hot concentrated HCL, typical of mineral process industries
A Series
Resistance to chlorides and fluorides (Derakane 411/470 or Hetron 922/970)
Integral corrosion resistant liner
50 to 150 PSI rated
Maximum temperature rating of 180F
Used for FGD applications due to much better wear resistance than rubber lined carbon steel
The SS simplex basket strainers have an open area ratio of at least 10:1. Gasket grooves on the strainer body help keep the EPDM lid gasket positioned correctly. The closure can be a bolted or tool-less T handle style depending upon the system pressure. The angled basket design self-centers and is easily removed via its handle. Integral vent and drain plugs enable draining for safe basket access as well as degassing during pipeline filling.
We can provide non-alloy valves for isolation, venting and draining for an additional cost.
