Platinum Glass-Filled Polypropylene Basket Strainers

 

 

Platinum glass-filled polypropylene (PGFPP) simplex strainers lack the black pigment of standard GFPP material and are otherwise designed the same as Hayward’s PVC, CPVC and GFPP basket strainers. PGFPP supports socket-fusion connections in both USA and metric standards in addition to threaded and ANSI flanged connections. In some applications a light-colored strainer is preferred because contamination or damage is easier to see.

 

Hayward’s one-piece injection-molded design produces a heavy-duty strainer for demanding service. All connections (inlet, outlet, vent, drain and cover) are designed for tool-free use, significantly reducing the chance of damage from over-tightening. Two outlet ports are provided—a high and a low port. Either or both can be used depending on piping layout. The inlet is located above the lower outlet and across from the upper outlet. The lower true-union port is frequently used as a drain; an optional ball-valve drain kit can be installed for quicker and safer drainage of aggressive fluids.

 

The standard strainer basket is made of regular (black) GFPP. Baskets can also be supplied in PVC, CPVC or 316 stainless steel. Non-alloy baskets are available in 1/32", 1/16", 1/8" and 3/16" perforation. 316 stainless steel baskets are offered in both perforated and mesh-lined designs. The basket is angled to minimize pressure drop and to prevent spinning during high-velocity upset conditions. The basket handle remains above the liquid level for safe access.

• 1½" through 8" basket strainers – standard perforation is 1/8".
• You may substitute 1/32", 1/16", 1/8" or 3/16" perforated baskets in place of the standard perforation at no extra charge.
• Strainer baskets are the same material as the strainer body unless otherwise specified.
• ½" through 2" strainers are supplied with both socket and threaded end connectors where applicable.
