Inexpensive Cast Iron Simplex Strainers

Eaton Model 30R simplex strainers are a lower-cost alternative to the cast iron version of the Eaton Model 72 simplex strainers. Available in 1½" to 8" sizes, the Model 30R has a quick-open cover that can be removed without tools, a drain plug and a machined basket seat.

How to Choose Between the Eaton Model 30R and Eaton Model 72 Cast Iron Simplex Strainers

The 1½"–2½" Model 30R sizes offer equivalent or larger gross screen area than the Model 72 and therefore represent good value. From 3" through 8" the Model 72 holds the gross-screen-area advantage, so the Model 30R will typically require more frequent basket cleaning in those larger sizes.
