Hayward's polypropylene simplex strainers are typically used for chemically aggressive applications as well as higher temperatures and pressures that  are incompatible with PVC and CPVC materials. The single piece molded body results in a very rugged and user friendly design consisting of only a few components: the body, cover, connections and vent/drain plugs.  The oversized cover handles enable removal and installation without the use of tools or possibility for over-tightening.  The vent and drain plugs are also designed to adequately seal without the need for tools and if you prefer we can provide vent and drain valves to further minimize contact with the process fluid.

 

Hayward GFPP simplex strainers have (1) inlet and (2) potential outlets.  One of the outlets can be directly opposite the inlet and the other directly under the inlet - often referred to as a "loop" configuration.  The bottom outlet can also be used to install a ball valve in support of quick draining; the valve can be manually or electrically/pneumatically actuated.  Hayward manufactures a complete range of plastic valves for strainer isolation, venting and drainage.

 

The true union connections simplify installation and removal from your pipeline, which is especially important for socket fused and glued piping.  Its' flat bottom base has slots to secure it to grade.

 

Inside Hayward's GFPP simplex strainer is a injection molded basket also made of GFPP and having 1/32", 1/16", 1/8" or 3/16" perforations; 316SS perforated or mesh lined baskets are another option.  The angled basket design minimized the differential pressure (pressure loss) across the strainer and also prevents the basket from "spinning" during high velocity "upset" conditions.  The strainer basket handle remains above the fluid to minimize potential contact by personnel.

• 1½" thru 4" Basket Strainers standard perforation is 1/8".

• You may substitute 1/32", 1/16", 1/8" or 3/16" perforated baskets in lieu of standard basket perforation for no charge.

• Strainer baskets are same material as the strainer body.
