The extra-large flange design seals larger hole openings compared to the standard and short length designs. The LBFA can still be used with thick tank walls and is available in ½" to 1" connection sizes in PVC, CPVC and PP materials with either EPDM or FPM gasket seals. LBFAS bulkhead fittings have left-hand buttress threads to protect against unscrewing and blowout. The hex flats on the body enables one-person installation. LBFA bulk head fittings are rated for pressures up to 150 PSI and listed NFS/ANSI 61, NSF/ANSI 372.
The body and gasket are installed on the inside of the tank and the nut is tightened while holding the body. The nut can be tightened from the outside of the tank by holding the flats on the body end while turning the nut.
When using the threaded configuration, wrap the threads with PTFE tape in a clockwise direction beginning at the first or second full thread. The threading should be "hand tight", perhaps using a strap wrench only for an additional ½ to 1½ turns past "hand tight".
Socket configurations can be assembled using the appropriate PVC/CPVC primer and adhesive; refer to the IOM manual below for the cure schedule by pressure and temperature.
